Governor Anandi Ben Patel spent half an hour on Monday evening at the Phool Bungalow, which is associated with the childhood memories of century megastar Amitabh Bachchan. The owner of this bungalow, Senior Advocate Srishankar Tiwari, who was the Member of Parliament from Etawah, once used to represent his case in the Supreme Court. The governor also shared the memories of a lawyer he knew from the caretaker of the bungalow.
Governor Anandi Ben Patel reached the bungalow located at 17 Atul Maheshwari Marg at 4:50 pm, whose memories are associated with her lawyer. Now no one lives in this bungalow. At present, work is being done here under the Shree Shankar Indu Tiwari Prayar Nyas for the education and help of the children of the needy and the poor. As soon as the Governor arrived, the caretaker of the bungalow, Krishna Kumar Pandey received him.
As soon as she entered the bungalow, the governor reached the part on the left where Harivansh Rai Bachchan, the poet of the classic Kriti Madhushala, once lived with his son Amitabh and wife Teji Bachchan. The Governor spent half an hour in the room where Amitabh Bachchan had studied till Class VIII in the Boys’ High School. He also visited the gallery in which photographs and letters related to the memories of his lawyer Shrishankar Tiwari are stored there.
A letter signed jointly by Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan in response to the condolence letter sent by the former MP on the death of Harivansh Rai Bachchan is also placed in the frame of that gallery. The governor asked the caretaker about those photographs. In 1984, when Amitabh was contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Allahabad parliamentary seat, the Governor also saw many memorable photographs. Amitabh himself has been calling it a bungalow with flowers.
Amitabh’s attachment to this bungalow can be gauged from the fact that he offered to pay exorbitant price many times to buy it, but the owner of this bungalow was not ready to sell it. Amitabh’s son Abhishek Bachchan had come to see this bungalow five years ago when he came to Sangam with his wife Aishwarya and daughter Aaradhya for immersion of his father-in-law’s ashes, but he could not go inside as the bungalow was locked. Could have gone
The autobiography of former MP Shri Shankar Tiwari presented to the governor Bungalow Caretaker Advocate Krishna Kumar Pandey presented two volumes from the Jharokhi of memories of former MP Shri Shankar Tiwari’s autobiography to Governor Anandi Ben Patel. He had converted this bungalow into a trust working for the poor during his lifetime. On the question of selling this bungalow or giving it to the government, Care Taker Pandey said that this cannot happen. That bungalow is a private property and educational activities for the poor are being conducted from there.
